Grosvenor Inquiry Hearings Live Streaming Inspector Smith 10 am Today. What is the Inspectorates views on what is “An Acceptable Level of Risk to Mineworkers”

For anyone who is employed or interested in the Coal Industry and how the Mines Inspectors oversee Safety and Health in the Coal Mines please watch Inspector Smith.

He started giving evidence yesterday afternoon. At some point in the near future it should be available to stream and get the written transcript.

My posts since lunch time yesterday directly relate to his verbal sworn evidence.

It will be interesting to see how he justifies that the Mines Inspectors fulfilled their obligation to ensure an “Acceptable Level of Risk to Mineworkers”

  1. to inspect and audit coal mines to assess whether risk to persons is at an acceptable level;
  2. if unsafe practices or conditions at coal mines are detected, to ensure timely corrective or remedial action is being taken and, if not, require it to be taken;
  3. to investigate serious accidents and high potential incidents at coal mines;
  4.  to investigate matters at coal mines that affect the successful management of risk to persons;https://www.qldminingcrisis.com.au/2021/03/08/grosvenor-mine-case-study-in-how-not-to-design-construct-develop-and-manage-a-thick-seam-gassy-coal-mine-grosvenor-mine-ventilation-system-could-not-cope-with-methane-in-first-few-hundred-metres/
