55 Longwall Methane HPI’s 2017 to December 2019
One thing is blindingly obvious is that the Sensor on #149 only gets one mention as going over 2.5% once in 55 HPI’s.
Whatever they did with venturis and butchers flaps and sensor location must be very efficient at keeping it below 2.5%. Unbelievably efficient
There were 55 Longwall Methane HPis between 2017 and December 2019.
There were a further 14 HPI’s identified from 18th March to 21st April 2020
Yet 5 of the last 7 and the last 4 until the 21st April have the #149 Sensor greater than 2.5% and up to 5%.

The next step will be now lining up Department MRE’s against HPI’s.
The number of Non-Reportable Incidents is unknown however there are spikes over 2.5%
Additional ‘spikes’ of methane > 2.5% have also occurred during the operation of LW104, however where these have occurred for less than 30 seconds, they have been recorded as per s344(2) Of the CMSHR, being a sudden, temporary increase in the general body of methane to more than 2.5% and the ventilation system Is capable of quickly reducing the methane to not more than 2.5%.
