Both North Goonyella and Grosvenor Mines have shown twice in 2 years that out of control spontaneous combustion events occur in Qld Underground Coal Mines.
While it was easy for the General Public to be totally unimpacted and unaware of the events at North Goonyella, that is not the situation for Moranbah area.
I was informed that if the same 3km exclusion zone had been applied when the Longwall Panel at Grosvenor required sealing from the surface, then a significant portion of Moranbah would need to be evacuated.
This is besides closing the access roads to Goonyella Riverside Mine, Broadmeadow Mine etc.
With the seemingly advanced plans for the construction of Moranbah South, where will they site and orientate the drifts and ventilation shafts?
